Fudge Base
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- pinch of salt
Add-ins
- 1 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang to allow easy removal of the fudge once set.
- Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until the chocolate chips are fully melted and the mixture is smooth, ensuring no burning or sticking.
- Add Flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.
- Mix in Cherries and Nuts: Fold in the chopped dried cherries and almonds if using, distributing them evenly throughout the fudge mixture.
- Set the Fudge: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes to begin firming up.
- Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours or until completely set and firm to the touch.
- Cut and Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment or foil overhang. Cut into 24 small squares and enjoy.
Notes
- For a nut-free version, omit the almonds.
- Substitute dried cranberries if you prefer a different fruit option.
