Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 500g potato gnocchi (fresh or high-quality store-bought)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 to 2 teaspoons white truffle oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley or chives), finely chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Gather all ingredients. If using frozen gnocchi, make sure to thaw them. Mince the garlic and finely chop the fresh herbs to have everything ready for cooking.
- Toast gnocchi: Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the gnocchi in a single layer. Sauté for 6 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the gnocchi is golden brown on all sides, ensuring a crispy outside and tender inside.
- Add garlic and herbs: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the fresh herbs to infuse the dish with bright flavors.
- Finish with truffle oil: Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle white truffle oil evenly over the gnocchi. Toss gently to coat each piece with the aromatic oil.
- Season and serve: Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese for an extra layer of richness. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
Notes
- Use fresh or high-quality store-bought gnocchi for best texture and flavor.
- Be careful not to brown the garlic too much as it can become bitter.
- White truffle oil is potent; start with 1 teaspoon and add more if desired.
- Parmesan cheese adds a savory finish but can be omitted for a dairy-free option.
- Serve immediately as gnocchi can lose crispiness upon standing.
