Description

Cool off with a refreshing glass of Sweet Peach Iced Tea that combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with the classic taste of black tea. This homemade iced tea is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day.

Ingredients

Scale

For the tea:

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags

For the peach syrup:

  • 3 large ripe peaches (peeled, pitted, and sliced)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 more cups cold water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh peach slices and mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew the tea: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the tea bags for 5–7 minutes. Discard tea bags and set the tea aside to cool slightly.
  2. Make the peach syrup: In another saucepan, combine the sliced peaches and sugar. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are very soft and syrupy. Remove from heat and mash or blend the mixture until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids, pressing to extract as much syrup as possible.
  3. Combine and chill: In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea, peach syrup, 4 cups of cold water, and lemon juice if using. Stir well and chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Serve: Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices and mint if desired.

Notes

  • For a stronger peach flavor, let the syrup infuse longer before straining.
  • You can also use frozen peaches if fresh ones aren’t available.
  • Adjust sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of your peaches.
