Puff Pastry:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
Filling:
- 1/4 cup Nutella
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (diced)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine diced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Allow to macerate for 5 minutes.
- Roll out the pastry: On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut into 6 rectangles.
- Assemble the pies: Place Nutella and strawberry mixture on 3 rectangles, top with remaining rectangles, and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush with egg wash: Brush the tops with beaten egg and make a small slit on each pie.
- Bake: Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Finish: Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use raspberries or jam as substitutes for strawberries.
- Best enjoyed warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
