Ingredients
Scale
Spinach and Cheese Filling
- 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped) or ½ cup frozen spinach (thawed and squeezed dry)
- ½ cup ricotta cheese
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Dough and Finishing
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix together the chopped or thawed and drained spinach with the ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until evenly combined for a flavorful filling.
- Shape the Rolls: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of the spinach and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Roll each triangle up starting from the wide end toward the narrow tip, tucking the edges slightly to seal in the filling securely.
- Arrange and Apply Egg Wash: Place the rolls seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. If you prefer a glossy, golden top, beat the egg and lightly brush it over the surface of each roll before baking.
- Bake: Bake the stuffed crescent rolls for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and the dough is fully cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with marinara sauce or ranch dressing if desired.
Notes
- Serve these stuffed crescent rolls with marinara or ranch dipping sauces for extra flavor.
- They work great as an appetizer, snack, or light lunch option.
- For variety, try adding chopped artichokes or sun-dried tomatoes to the filling mixture.
