Description

Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Biscuits are a delicious and savory snack or meal option featuring tender sliced beef, sautéed bell pepper and onions, and melted cheese all wrapped in flaky biscuit dough. Quick to prepare and perfect for appetizers or a hearty main course, these stuffed biscuits combine classic Philly cheesesteak flavors with a buttery, golden baked crust.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced beef steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Assembly

  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed biscuits.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper, cooking for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook Beef: Add the thinly sliced beef steak to the skillet along with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook the beef mixture for about 3–4 minutes, until the beef is just cooked through. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  4. Prepare Biscuit Dough: Flatten each biscuit dough piece into a 4–5 inch round using your hands or a rolling pin to create a thin, even base for stuffing.
  5. Fill Biscuits: Spoon a portion of the beef and vegetable mixture onto the center of each flattened biscuit. Add a pinch of shredded cheese on top of the beef filling.
  6. Seal Biscuits: Fold the dough around the filling and pinch the edges tightly to fully enclose the filling, preventing leakage during baking. Place the stuffed biscuits seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Brush and Bake: Optionally, brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter for a golden, shiny crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 13–16 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a quicker prep, use pre-cooked shaved steak instead of cooking raw beef.
  • Substitute provolone cheese with American or cheddar cheese to vary the flavor profile.
  • These stuffed biscuits freeze well; reheat them in the oven or air fryer to restore crispness and warmth.
