Description

Peanut Butter Fritos Candy is a delightful no-bake treat combining the salty crunch of Fritos corn chips with a sweet, creamy peanut butter glaze. Drizzled optionally with melted chocolate, this easy-to-make dessert is perfect for holiday gatherings or anytime you crave a sweet and salty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Fritos corn chips (one standard bag)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Topping

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Dish: Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Crush Fritos: Lightly crush the Fritos corn chips in the bag or with your hands until they are bite-sized pieces, then spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Make Syrup Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar and light corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  4. Add Peanut Butter and Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  5. Combine with Fritos: Immediately pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the crushed Fritos. Gently press it down using a spatula to spread evenly across the chips.
  6. Optional Chocolate Drizzle: If using, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the candy.
  7. Cool and Set: Allow the candy to cool completely at room temperature until firm.
  8. Cut and Serve: Once set, cut into bars or break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • For extra texture and flavor, sprinkle chopped peanuts or mini marshmallows over the Fritos before pouring the hot peanut butter mixture.
  • Store these peanut butter Fritos candy bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
