Ingredients
Scale
Fruit Base
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6–8 lemons)
Liquid & Sweetener
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
Ice & Garnishes
- 4 cups ice cubes
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices, for garnish (optional)
- Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Peaches: Place the chopped peaches in a blender to start building the base of your slushie.
- Add Lemon Juice: Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the blender with the peaches to add a refreshing citrus tang.
- Add Water and Sugar: Add 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar to the blender. The sugar amount can be adjusted based on your desired sweetness level.
- Blend Smooth: Blend the mixture until smooth, pausing to scrape down the sides to ensure even blending.
- Taste and Adjust Sweetness: Sample the blended mixture and add more sugar if it needs to be sweeter.
- Optional Straining: For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth to remove any peach skin or pulp bits. Press firmly to extract all the liquid, then discard the solids.
- Return to Blender: Pour the strained or unstrained peach lemonade base back into the blender.
- Add Ice: Add 4 cups of ice cubes to the blender for the slushie texture.
- Blend to Slushie Consistency: Blend on high speed until the mixture reaches a smooth, slushy consistency. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides.
- Adjust Consistency: If the slushie is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time and blend again. If too thin, add more ice cubes and blend until desired consistency is reached.
- Final Flavor Check: Taste the slushie and adjust with additional lemon juice or sugar if needed, blending briefly to combine.
- Serve: Pour the slushie into glasses or mason jars for serving.
- Garnish: Add lemon slices, peach slices, and a sprig of fresh mint to each glass for a decorative and flavorful touch.
- Enjoy Immediately: Serve the peach lemonade slushie right away to enjoy the refreshing texture and flavor at its best.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar or substituting with honey or agave syrup.
- For a smoother drink, straining the peach mixture helps remove pulp and skin.
- If peaches are out of season, frozen peaches can be used instead of fresh.
- Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist before serving.
- This recipe can be easily doubled or halved depending on the number of servings needed.
