Description

Delicious Parmesan Garlic Pizza Rolls are a perfect party appetizer or kid-friendly snack featuring soft pizza dough rolled with mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic butter, and optional pepperoni, baked to golden perfection and served with marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Rolls

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped pepperoni (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Marinara or pizza sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Dough: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle approximately 10 by 14 inches.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Brush half of this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough to infuse flavor.
  3. Add Cheese and Pepperoni: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, and mini or chopped pepperoni evenly over the dough if using.
  4. Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch rolls and arrange them cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush and Add Cheese Topping: Brush the remaining garlic butter mixture over the tops of the rolls, then sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese for an extra cheesy crust.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and bubbly, indicating the cheese has melted perfectly.
  7. Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Add chopped spinach, mushrooms, or olives to the filling for additional flavors and variety.
  • These pizza rolls make an excellent appetizer for parties or a fun after-school snack for kids.
  • Make vegetarian by omitting pepperoni or substituting with plant-based alternatives.
