- 4 large egg yolks (reserve whites for meringue)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 4 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for meringue)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare Filling: In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk in orange juice and lemon juice. Cook until thickened. Temper egg yolks and add to the mixture. Cook until thick. Remove from heat, stir in orange zest and butter. Pour into pie crust.
- Make Meringue: In a clean bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Spread over filling.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until meringue is golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Cool at room temperature for 1 hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
