Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Rolls
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
- 1/2 cup Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
Egg Wash
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
Optional Toppings
- Powdered sugar
- Chopped hazelnuts
- Mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles on a clean surface.
- Spread Nutella: Evenly spread about 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto each triangle, keeping a small border around the edges to prevent the filling from leaking out while baking.
- Roll crescents: Starting from the wide end of each triangle, carefully roll it up toward the pointed end to form a classic crescent shape. Place each rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the tip side down to help keep them sealed during baking.
- Apply egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush this mixture over the tops of the crescent rolls to give them a beautiful golden and shiny finish once baked.
- Bake: Bake the crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and puffy.
- Cool and garnish: Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar or sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts or mini chocolate chips if desired before serving.
Notes
- Serve the rolls warm for a gooey and melty Nutella center experience.
- For a fun twist, add a thin banana slice or a few mini marshmallows on top of the Nutella before rolling.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
