- 8 ounces mushrooms (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
Additional:
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: to 400°F. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth creases.
- Cut and shape: Cut pastry into 24 squares and press into a mini muffin tin.
- Prepare the filling: Sauté mushrooms in olive oil and butter until browned. Add garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and mix in cream cheese and shredded cheese.
- Fill the pastry cups: Spoon mushroom mixture into the pastry cups.
- Bake: Brush pastry edges with beaten egg. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
