Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare dough: Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk dry ingredients. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  2. Bake the cookies: Drop dough onto baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden. Cool on rack.
  3. Make the icing: Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and salt until smooth.
