Description

Delicious jalapeño popper stuffed rolls combine creamy cheeses, spicy jalapeños, and savory bacon stuffed inside soft dinner rolls, baked to golden perfection. Perfect for game day appetizers, party snacks, or anytime you crave a cheesy, spicy treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Rolls

  • 12 dinner rolls or slider buns

For the Topping

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking during baking.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Prepare the rolls: Slice the tops off each dinner roll carefully without separating them entirely. Hollow out some of the bread from inside each roll to create space for the filling.
  4. Stuff the rolls: Spoon the jalapeño cheese mixture evenly into each hollowed roll. Arrange the stuffed rolls closely together in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Prepare the topping: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with smoked paprika and grated Parmesan cheese. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the stuffed rolls.
  6. Bake covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes to allow the rolls to heat through and the cheeses to melt properly.
  7. Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes or until the rolls turn golden brown on top and the cheese mixture is bubbly.
  8. Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly, then serve warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce the number of jalapeños or substitute with mild green chilies.
  • These stuffed rolls can be prepared in advance and refrigerated; bake just before serving to maintain freshness.
  • Ideal for game days, parties, or as a flavorful appetizer any time.
