Description

These Jalapeño Popper Deviled Eggs are a creamy, spicy twist on a classic appetizer, combining the heat of jalapeños with the smoky flavor of bacon and the richness of cream cheese. Perfect for parties or a flavorful snack, they offer a delicious blend of textures and tastes.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 6 large eggs

Filling

  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons cooked bacon (crumbled)
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeños (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Extra bacon crumbles
  • Paprika

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the eggs for 10 minutes to ensure they are hard-boiled. Once cooked, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool completely, which makes peeling easier.
  2. Prepare the Filling: Peel the cooled eggs and slice each one in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Using a fork, mash the yolks with the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, shredded cheddar cheese, finely chopped pickled jalapeños, and crumbled bacon until the mixture is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, blending everything thoroughly.
  3. Assemble the Deviled Eggs: Spoon or pipe the creamy filling back into the hollowed-out egg white halves. Be generous with the filling for a rich bite.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Add your choice of garnish such as extra bacon crumbles, sliced jalapeños, or a light sprinkle of paprika for color and added flavor. Chill the deviled eggs before serving to enhance their taste and texture.

Notes

  • For an extra spicy kick, substitute pickled jalapeños with fresh jalapeños.
  • These deviled eggs can be prepared up to one day in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator to save time.
