Ingredients
Scale
Brownie Batter
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
Cinnamon Swirl
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Vanilla Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix the Batter: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and vegetable oil. Mix until the batter is smooth and well-blended with no lumps.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a separate bowl, mix together the packed light brown sugar and ground cinnamon until fully combined.
- Layer the Batter and Cinnamon: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter layer.
- Add Remaining Batter and Swirl: Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar layer and spread gently to cover. Use a knife to swirl the layers together slightly to create a marbled effect.
- Bake the Brownies: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Make the Vanilla Glaze: While the brownies are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Glaze the Brownies: Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool slightly but while still warm, pour the vanilla glaze evenly over the top to soak in and set.
- Serve: Let the glaze set completely before slicing the brownies into 12 equal pieces and serving.
