Ingredients
Scale
Basic Ingredients
- 2 large flour tortillas (burrito-size)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup cooked rice (Mexican or cilantro-lime)
- 1/4 cup nacho cheese sauce or melted cheese
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons taco sauce or salsa
Optional Ingredients
- Black beans
- Guacamole
- Jalapeños
Instructions
- Make the Quesadilla: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place one tortilla in the skillet and evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Cover with the second tortilla to form a cheese quesadilla. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted. Remove it from the skillet carefully.
- Assemble the Quesarito: Transfer the cooked quesadilla onto a flat surface. In the center, layer the cooked rice, seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and taco sauce. Add any optional ingredients like black beans, guacamole, or jalapeños if desired.
- Fold and Roll: Fold the bottom edge of the quesadilla upwards over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll it tightly into a burrito shape to secure all the fillings inside.
- Seal and Warm: Place the wrapped Quesarito seam-side down back into the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes. This seals the burrito and ensures it is warmed through.
- Serve: Slice the Quesarito in half and serve hot. Optionally, accompany it with extra sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Customize your Quesarito by swapping the protein with your favorite option or making it vegetarian with beans and grilled vegetables.
- For enhanced flavor, sprinkle taco seasoning into the rice or sour cream before assembling.
