- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Base: Line a mini muffin tin with 12 liners. In a bowl, combine almond flour, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Press about 1 tablespoon of the dough into the bottom of each liner to form a crust. Place the tray in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
- Make the Caramel Layer: While the base chills, combine almond butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened, about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of this caramel onto each chilled crust. Return the cups to the freezer for another 10 minutes.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping: Melt the dark chocolate chips with coconut oil in the microwave using 30-second bursts, stirring well between each until fully smooth. Spoon a layer of melted chocolate over the caramel in each cup. Return the cups to the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
- Storage and Serving: Store the finished Twix cups in the refrigerator or freezer to keep them firm. Enjoy them chilled for the best texture and flavor experience.
