Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garlic Brown Sugar Sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Season: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Rub each chicken breast with olive oil, then season both sides with salt and black pepper to ensure even flavor.
- Grill Chicken: Place the chicken breasts on the grill and cook for 6–7 minutes on each side or until an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached, indicating the chicken is perfectly cooked through.
- Prepare Sauce: While the chicken is grilling, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, then stir in brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and optional crushed red pepper flakes. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Serve: Once the chicken is done, brush or drizzle the garlic brown sugar sauce over each piece. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
Notes
- The garlic brown sugar sauce can also be brushed on the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling for a caramelized glaze.
- Serve this dish alongside rice, roasted vegetables, or a crisp side salad for a well-rounded meal.
- Use gluten-free soy sauce if you need the recipe to be gluten-free.
