  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or pasta of choice
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the broth and milk, then bring to a gentle boil. Add the dry pasta and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for 10–12 minutes or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until creamy and well combined. Let sit for a minute or two to thicken. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra richness, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a spoonful of cream cheese before adding the cheese.
