  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup additional chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Melt butter and 1 cup chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let cool slightly.
  3. Prepare Batter: Whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in melted chocolate mixture. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Combine wet and dry ingredients, fold in additional chocolate chips.
  4. Bake: Scoop dough onto baking sheet and bake for 9 to 11 minutes. Cool before transferring to a wire rack.
