Description

These Fried Cheesy Ground Beef Balls are a delicious appetizer or snack, perfect for parties or game day gatherings. A flavorful mixture of ground beef, cheddar cheese, and spices is formed into balls, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried to crispy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

For the beef balls:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 1 large egg

For coating and frying:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten (for dredging)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cheddar cheese, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, breadcrumbs, and 1 egg. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into balls and chill in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  4. Roll each meatball in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the beef balls in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • You can prep these ahead and freeze them raw or cooked.
  • For extra cheesy centers, stuff each ball with a small cube of mozzarella before frying.
  • Bake instead of fry at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes for a lighter version.
