Description

This Easy Taco Pizza is a delicious fusion of Mexican flavors and classic pizza, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Featuring a crispy baked pizza crust layered with seasoned taco meat, refried beans with taco sauce, and melted cheddar cheese, this recipe is sure to please taco and pizza lovers alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated Classic Pizza Dough

Taco Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (1-oz) package taco seasoning
  • ⅔ cup water

Toppings

  • 1 cup refried beans
  • ½ cup taco sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 400ºF (204ºC). Lightly spray a 15×10-inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Pizza Dough: Unroll the refrigerated pizza dough and press it into the bottom and slightly up the sides of the prepared baking pan to form the crust. Bake the crust for 5 minutes to partially cook and set it.
  3. Cook Taco Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain the excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and ⅔ cup water, then continue cooking for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and flavors meld. Remove from heat.
  4. Prepare Bean Sauce Layer: Stir together the refried beans and taco sauce until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the pre-baked pizza crust to create a flavorful base layer.
  5. Assemble Pizza: Evenly spread the cooked taco meat over the bean and sauce layer. Then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top, covering the meat layer completely.
  6. Bake Pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Remove the pizza from the oven and add your favorite taco toppings such as chopped lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, or jalapeños if desired. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner protein option.
  • Feel free to add additional toppings like diced onions, black olives, or jalapeños before baking.
  • Use a pre-made pizza sauce for a different flavor twist instead of refried beans and taco sauce.
  • Let the pizza rest for a few minutes after baking to make slicing easier and prevent toppings from sliding.
  • If you prefer a spicier pizza, add crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the taco meat mixture.
