  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water (slurry)

For Garnish:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Toss the Chicken: Coat chicken pieces with cornstarch.
  2. Cook Chicken: Brown chicken in oil, then set aside.
  3. Prepare Sauce: Sauté garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, broth, and sesame oil. Thicken with cornstarch slurry.
  4. Combine: Toss chicken in sauce until coated.
  5. Garnish: Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
