Description

Indulge in the savory delight of this Easy Garlic Philly Cheesesteak Bread, a flavorful twist on the classic cheesesteak sandwich baked to perfection. Slices of ribeye steak, sautéed onions, and bell peppers are nestled between layers of melted provolone cheese on garlic-infused French bread for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

French Bread:

  • 1 large French bread loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Cheesesteak Filling:

  • 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Bread: Mix softened butter and minced garlic, spread on cut sides of bread. Toast cut side up on a baking sheet in the oven for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Cook Steak: Brown ribeye slices in olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Remove from skillet.
  4. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, cook onions and bell peppers until softened. Return steak to the skillet and combine with vegetables.
  5. Assemble: Layer provolone slices on bread, spoon steak mixture over cheese, top with remaining provolone. Bake for 5–7 minutes until cheese melts.
  6. Serve: Garnish with parsley, slice, and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the garlic butter before toasting.
  • Shaved roast beef can be used as a quicker alternative to ribeye.
