Description

These Dynamite Shrimp are crispy, spicy, and utterly delicious. Coated in a creamy, tangy sauce, they make a perfect appetizer or main course.

For the shrimp:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the dynamite sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • Pinch of garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dynamite sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and garlic powder. Adjust heat to taste. Chill while preparing shrimp.
  2. Coat the shrimp: Toss shrimp in buttermilk, then dredge in a mixture of cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fry the shrimp: Heat oil to 350°F, fry shrimp in batches until golden and crispy.
  4. Toss in sauce: Coat hot shrimp in dynamite sauce. Serve garnished with green onions or sesame seeds.
