  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Coating and Frying:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for sautéing)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potato Mixture: Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender. Mash the potatoes and let them cool.
  2. Cook Meat Mixture: Sauté onion, then add and cook ground meat with soy sauce, mirin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Mix the meat with mashed potatoes, shape into patties.
  4. Coat and Fry: Dredge croquettes in flour, egg, and panko. Deep fry until golden brown.
  5. Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
