Ingredients
Scale
Apples:
- 2 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced into fry-sized wedges
Breading:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Additional:
- cooking spray
- caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
- Prepare Breading Station: Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Coat Apple Slices: Dredge each apple slice in flour, then dip in egg, and coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to help it stick.
- Air Fry: Place coated apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve: Serve immediately with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- For extra sweetness, sprinkle more cinnamon sugar over the fries right after air frying.
- Best enjoyed warm right out of the air fryer.
- You can prep the apple slices ahead of time and refrigerate them until ready to coat and cook.
