Dip Base
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups sour cream (light sour cream can be used)
Seasonings and Herbs
- 1 packet (about 1 ounce) dry onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (or 1 teaspoon dried chives)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Garnish
- Chopped green onions or additional fresh herbs
Instructions
- Mix the cream cheese and sour cream: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Add dry ingredients and herbs: Stir in the dry onion soup mix, chopped fresh parsley, chopped fresh chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all the seasonings.
- Refrigerate to meld flavors: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to develop and the dip to thicken.
- Stir and garnish before serving: Give the dip a good stir to recombine ingredients. Add chopped green onions or extra fresh herbs as garnish if desired. Serve chilled with your favorite chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

- Adjust salt and pepper according to taste after chilling.
- Try adding a splash of lemon juice for extra brightness.
