Ingredients
Scale
Pastry
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- Flour for dusting
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pastry: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out the folds. Cut the pastry into 16 equal squares. Gently press each square into the cups of a mini muffin tin to form small pastry cups.
- Fill the pastry cups: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of softened cream cheese into the center of each puff pastry cup. Then, top each with 1 teaspoon of whole berry cranberry sauce. Sprinkle a few chopped pecans and a small pinch of finely chopped fresh rosemary over the top to add crunch and an herbal note.
- Egg wash and bake: Brush the edges of each puff pastry cup lightly with the beaten egg to help them develop a beautiful golden color during baking. Place the muffin tin on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Finish and serve: Remove the bites from the oven and allow them to cool slightly in the muffin tin for a few minutes. If desired, drizzle each bite with honey for a touch of sweetness. Serve warm or at room temperature as an elegant appetizer.
Notes
- Substitute goat cheese for cream cheese to add a tangier flavor.
- These appetizer bites can be prepared ahead of time and reheated briefly in the oven before serving to freshen them.

- Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed before working with it for easier rolling and shaping.
