Panna Cotta:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder or strong instant coffee
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Vanilla Cream Topping:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Panna Cotta Mixture: In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, and espresso powder. Heat until hot but not boiling. Add vanilla and bloomed gelatin, then pour into ramekins. Chill for 4 hours.
  3. Make Vanilla Cream: Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Top each panna cotta with a dollop before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee taste, substitute part of the milk with brewed coffee.
  • To unmold, dip ramekins in warm water for 10 seconds before inverting onto plates.
