Panna Cotta:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder or strong instant coffee
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons cold water
Vanilla Cream Topping:
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Prepare Panna Cotta Mixture: In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, and espresso powder. Heat until hot but not boiling. Add vanilla and bloomed gelatin, then pour into ramekins. Chill for 4 hours.
- Make Vanilla Cream: Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Top each panna cotta with a dollop before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger coffee taste, substitute part of the milk with brewed coffee.
- To unmold, dip ramekins in warm water for 10 seconds before inverting onto plates.
