Description

These Chicken Philly Sliders are a delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, featuring tender chicken breast sautéed with peppers and onions, topped with melted provolone cheese, and served on soft slider buns. Perfect for game day, parties, or a quick family meal, these sliders offer a satisfying and flavorful bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Vegetables

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Assembly and Baking

  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Skillet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook Chicken: Add the thinly sliced chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chicken is just cooked through.
  3. Add Vegetables and Season: Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the chicken. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the vegetables become soft and the chicken turns golden brown.
  4. Finish Chicken Mixture: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and remove the skillet from the heat.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Evenly spoon the chicken and pepper mixture over the buns, then layer the provolone cheese slices on top.
  6. Add Tops and Butter: Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese. Brush the melted butter over the tops of the buns and sprinkle dried parsley over them, if using.
  7. Bake Sliders: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  8. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the sliders warm for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or a dash of hot sauce to the chicken mixture before assembling.
  • You can prep the chicken and vegetable mixture ahead of time and bake the sliders just before serving.
  • These sliders are perfect for game day gatherings or quick weeknight dinners.
