Ingredients
Scale
Beef Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
Cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Dough & Garnish
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef together with the finely chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Season and Simmer: Stir in salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and marinara sauce into the cooked beef mixture. Let it simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes to blend the flavors well, then remove from heat.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles as per the package instructions.
- Assemble Rolls: Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip, encasing the filling completely.
- Bake: Arrange the filled roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve the rolls warm, optionally with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Serve these rolls with extra marinara sauce for a delicious dip.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef for a lighter option.
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef filling.
