Scale
Vegetable Mixture
- 1 cup spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
Cheese Filling
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
Seasonings & Others
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 package of puff pastry (about 2 sheets)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the rolls to a perfect golden brown.
- Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into 4 equal squares to create 8 squares total for rolling.
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat a medium skillet over medium heat, then sauté the chopped spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, and red onion until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Make Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with shredded mozzarella, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Assemble Rolls: Spoon a generous amount of the vegetable and cheese mixture onto the center of each puff pastry square.
- Shape Rolls: Fold the corners of each puff pastry square over the filling to form a roll, pinching the edges securely to seal the filling inside.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the sealed rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup and brush the tops with olive oil to enhance browning.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed, golden brown, and the cheese inside has melted completely.
- Serve: Remove the baked vegetable rolls from the oven and serve warm. Enjoy as an appetizer, snack, or light meal!
Notes
- For crispier rolls, ensure the puff pastry stays cold until just before baking.
- You can substitute mozzarella with your favorite melting cheese like cheddar or provolone.
- Feel free to add herbs like basil or oregano for additional flavor.
- These rolls can be prepared in advance and baked fresh when needed.
- To keep the rolls warm before serving, tent them loosely with foil.
