Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Dough & Toppings
- 1 batch pizza dough (enough to roll out to approximately 12×8 inches)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking chicken and sealing rolls)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing tops)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (optional, for butter brushing)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season the cooked chicken breast generously with Cajun seasoning. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and pan-sear the chicken to lock in flavors and develop a slight char. Once cooked, set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix Filling Ingredients: Finely chop or shred the blackened chicken. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with Alfredo sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese, mixing until the mixture is well coated and cheesy.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick to ensure even baking and easy rolling.
- Assemble the Pizza Rolls: Spread the Cajun chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly into a log, pinch the edges to seal the rolls, then slice into 1-2 inch thick rolls.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the rolls cut side up on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter mixed with minced garlic. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18-22 minutes until the rolls are golden brown and crispy on top.
Notes
- For extra crispy rolls, you can brush with an additional layer of butter halfway through baking.
- Feel free to add chopped fresh parsley or basil on top after baking for a fresh garnish.
- You can prepare the filling a day ahead and refrigerate it to save time on assembly.
- Use store-bought pizza dough for convenience or homemade pizza dough if preferred.
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning according to your spice preference.
