Description

A quick and refreshing Avocado Tuna Salad combining creamy avocado, protein-rich albacore tuna, fresh cilantro, tangy lime juice, and vibrant pico de gallo. Perfect for a light and nutritious meal ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Tuna Mixture

  • 5 ounces Albacore Tuna, drained
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice (from half a lime)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt

Avocado Mixture

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lime juice (from remaining half lime)
  • Salt to taste

Additional

  • 1/2 cup Pico de Gallo

Instructions

  1. Drain Tuna: Drain the tuna thoroughly in the can to remove excess liquid, ensuring the salad doesn’t become watery.
  2. Prepare Tuna Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped fresh cilantro, juice from half a lime, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Stir well to blend all the flavors evenly.
  3. Mash Avocado: Peel and chop the avocado, then transfer it to a separate bowl. Squeeze the remaining half lime over the avocado and lightly mash it, leaving some chunks for texture. Add salt to taste and mix gently.
  4. Assemble Salad: On a serving plate, create a layer with half of the mashed avocado. Add a layer of half the tuna mixture on top, followed by a generous layer of fresh pico de gallo salsa. Repeat the layering process on a second plate to make two servings.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best tangy flavor.
  • Adjust salt according to your taste preference.
  • You can substitute pico de gallo with diced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro if unavailable.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the freshness of the ingredients.
